Ryan Murphy pledges support of women's strike
'All the women in my company will not be working,' he says
Not a lick of work is going to get done at Ryan Murphy Productions tomorrow, and that’s just fine with Ryan Murphy.
On the eve of the nationwide day of protest known as A Day Without a Woman, the American Horror Story and Feud creator has expressed his support of the cause, which encourages women to take the day off from paid and unpaid labor.
“In honor & support of tomorrow’s A DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN, ALL the women in my company will not be working,” Murphy tweeted Tuesday. “So in short, nothing will get done.”
He added, “There are marches and events happening all over the country. We will be there. You should too. Show love and support!
Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day and organized in part by the leaders of the Women’s March on Washington, the Day Without a Woman movement is calling for women to strike and not spend money on Wednesday in order to demonstrate their economic strength and importance.
