An exciting new addition is coming to Gotham.

The Fox drama is adding League of Shadows supervillain Ra’s al Ghul — who fans have long suspected might eventually join the show.

Not only that, but the role has been cast: Game of Thrones actor Alexander Siddig has signed onto the part.

Siddig (who plays Prince Doran Martell on the HBO hit) will first appear at the end of the current third season in a recurring role.

From Fox: “As Bruce (David Mazouz) pulls the veil off the Court of Owls, he finds the man pulling the strings is the enigmatic and powerfulRa’s al Ghul. With his past shrouded in mystery, Ra’s al Ghul uses cunning and deception to lay waste to his foes. As the leader of an international criminal organization known as the League of Shadows, Ra’s al Ghul will prove himself to be Bruce’s most dangerous adversary yet.”

Fun fact: Ra’s al Ghul has also been on The CW’s Arrow (played by Matt Nable across 10 episodes in 2014-15). This marks a rare instance of a character appearing in two different TV dramas played by two different actors on two different networks within a somewhat short amount of time.

In addition to his role on GoT, Siddig has had roles in Peaky Blinders, 24 and DaVinci’s Demons.

Gotham season 3 returns Monday, April 24.
