Alison Brie will enter the ring with Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan this summer.

GLOW, Netflix’s upcoming comedy about the totally-’80s world of female wrestlers, has landed a June 23 premiere date, as announced in the series’ first teaser.

Brie will play Ruth Wilder, an out-of-work actress in Los Angeles during the 1980s who is thrust into the ring, where she hopes to achieve stardom. She’ll work with other misfits of Hollywood under Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), a washed-up B-movie director trying to make something out of the wrestlers. Betty Gilpin (Nurse Jackie) plays former soap opera actress Debbie Eagan, who goes back to work when her vision of motherhood isn’t exactly what she hoped it would be.

Inspired by the ’80s show of the same name, the 10-episode series is executive-produced by Kohan, Tara Herrmann, and series creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch.

Inspired by the real-life 'Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling' series from the 1980s, this Netflix dramedy revolves around a crew of Hollywood misfits turned female wrestlers in L.A. who take their show to Las Vegas in season 3.
