James Corden, Jordan Peele, Nick Kroll spoof '90s boy bands in hilarious sketch
The comedians play a fake boy band in a 'Behind the Music'-esque sketch.
If there’s such a thing as a “hardcore” boy band, James Corden found it. The Late Late Show host teamed up with Get Out director Jordan Peele and comedian Nick Kroll on Thursday to form the boy band “Thr33way” in a Behind the Music-esque sketch.
“We took existing boy band songs, cut through all the innuendo, and got to the heart of what those songs were really about: hardcore sex,” Kroll said.
The Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” became “I Want a Thr33way” and “Quit Playin’ Games With My Penis,” *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” became “Bye-Bye-Bi…sexual,” Hanson’s “MMMBop” became “MMMBoobs.”
The hilarious rise and fall of this fake group is chronicled in the sketch, from when they find a naked Kroll playing guitar to the moment the other boy bands start suing them in court. Mario Lopez popped in, too, for an Extra TV interview with Thr33way. “There was an article that came out earlier in the week in which, well, one of your so-called girlfriends claimed that none of you have actually ever had sex,” he addressed a crying Peele.
