The Blacklist: Who has betrayed Red?
Someone is coming after Reddington — and The Blacklist finally aims to answer who.
Over the last several episodes, a mysterious entity has been tearing Red’s (James Spader) business apart. With The Blacklist set to go on hiatus during the spin-off Redemption‘s run, the NBC drama aims to provide some answers during Thursday’s hour.
“Reddington’s empire has been under attack, and it’s been happening by somebody who has intimate knowledge of his business’s — financial aspects,” executive producer Jon Bokenkamp tells EW. “He has come to the conclusion that it must be somebody close to him and somebody who is upset because of what’s happened, perhaps with Mr. Kaplan. That all comes to a head in [Thursday’s episode]; we do find out what has been going on and who is upset.”
A prevailing theory is that Mr. Kaplan has actually been targeting Red in a bid to get revenge after he shot her. “I think that’s a good guess,” Bokenkamp says. “Obviously she’s still out there, she has walked off into the sunset and God knows what she’s doing. She certainly has that kind of information, but I would say that she’s not the only person who has those kinds of intimate details that could really hit Reddington in such a significant way.”
Who do you think is behind the betrayal?
The Blacklist airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the debut of The Blacklist: Redemption at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
James Spader is Raymond "Red" Reddington, a mastermind criminal who teams up with the FBI.
