Tina Fey can add predicting the future to her list of talents.
Last year, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creator jokingly compared the 2016 presidential election to a season of American Horror Story — months before creator Ryan Murphy revealed the latest iteration of the anthology series will focus on the battle between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
“I feel like looking back on 2008 now, it looks like an episode of The Andy Griffith Show,” Fey said during last year’s Tribeca Film Festival. “And now it’s like, ‘Ryan Murphy brings you Horror Election!’ It’s like, Donald Trump is covering a Bowie song? What is happening?”
On Wednesday, Murphy announced season 7 of American Horror Story will be election-centric — and could include President Trump — but he declined to provide any further details or clarification.
In addition to being a soothsayer, Fey is a fan of Murphy’s work. At the same event, she expressed her love for American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, revealing she changed her Emmy voting status to the acting category so she could vote for Sarah Paulson and Sterling K. Brown.
