Thomas Lennon plays the character originated by Pesci in 'Lethal Weapon 2'
Joe Pesci introduced the Lethal Weapon films to ambulance-chasing attorney Leo Getz, but Thomas Lennon takes over the role for the Fox series this week. In an exclusive clip from the character’s return, Riggs (Clayton Crawford) and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) are using Leo as bait when an unforeseen complication arises.
Leo hurries over to a taco joint owned by Tito Flores to try and get a target off his back. In reality, Riggs and Murtaugh are using him as bait. But the arrival of DEA agent Karen Palmer (Hilarie Burton) prompts surprise gunfire as the crew dodges bullets — and salsa.
In the episode, titled “As Good As It Getz,” Riggs and Murtaugh are forced to work with Palmer to protect Leo, who’s been linked to the cartel.
Pesci first appeared as the character in Lethal Weapon 2, before returning for the third and fourth installments.
