With Valentine’s Day comes the promise of flowers, chocolates, and of course, a good romantic comedy.

In honor of Feb. 14, EW is counting the 10 best rom-com movie moments, from Westley’s clever ploy to get his beloved Buttercup back in The Princess Bride to The Wedding Singer‘s classic airplane serenade.

“I think romantic comedies are sort of wish fulfillments in a lot of ways, and a lot of people like watching them because it’s the idea that everything can work out perfectly in the end, no matter how terribly they start,” says EW senior writer Sara Vilkomerson.

Adds EW correspondent Shirley Li, “The will-they-won’t-they aspect has to be good, there has to be fun twists and turns, and there has to be a killer line.”

Jerry Maguire‘s got the line covered (“You had me at hello”), but check out the clip above for the other magic moments that made EW’s list.
