Here’s a This Is Us twist that one fan definitely didn’t see coming.

The NBC dramedy was filming last week in a residential L.A. neighborhood, and series star Milo Ventimiglia walked by the house next door, only to notice that someone inside was watching an episode of This Is Us. He decided to turn on the camera and give a guy named Fred the surprise of a lifetime by knocking on his door and saying hello. Fred also met the teenage version of the Big Three and took some selfies.

Ventimiglia posted this VIP fan experience to Twitter, which you can see below.

This Is Us airs tonight on NBC at 9 p.m. ET/PT. We’re pretty sure Fred will be watching.
