Lucy Hale to star in CW dramedy after Pretty Little Liars ends
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale has picked her next project.
The actress is moving over to The CW to star in a dramedy pilot titled Life Sentence.
The subject matter isn’t as grim as the title would suggest, however. The show is about a young woman who decides to live life to the fullest after thinking she had terminal cancer… only to learn she isn’t actually sick at all. Now, she has to live with all the choices made during a spree when she was “living like she was dying.” The dramedy is from writers Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith (Significant Mother).
Meanwhile, Hale’s Pretty Little Liars has only 10 episodes left on Freeform before the series ends.
The CW also picked a drama called Insatiable from writer Lauren Gussis (Dexter).
Here’s the pitch on that one: “When a disgraced, dissatisfied civil lawyer-turned-beauty pageant coach takes on a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client, he has no idea what he’s about to unleash upon the world.”
