When FX’s The Americans returns this spring, real-world parallels and the explosive revelations of season 4 will combine to give even more exciting new life to TV’s single best spy thriller.

The show is gearing up for its fifth season, set to premiere on March 7, with the first teaser trailer, which focuses on Paige (Holly Taylor). How does one balance the double life of being a Soviet spy-in-training and an American teenager? Quite well, it appears, as the teaser seems to suggest that Paige is no longer phased by the trials of her duplicity in season 4.

An official synopsis for the forthcoming season teases escalations — of passion, between Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell); of politics, between Russia and the United States in the growing Cold War; and of the threats posed by young love, as Paige continues to invest in her romance with Matthew (Danny Flaherty), the son of Stan (Noah Emmerich). Also, Henry is there.

The Americans returns on March 7 on FX.
