Jon Hamm to host NHL's 100th anniversary special
Jon Hamm is headed from the world of advertising to the hockey rink.
The Mad Men star has been tapped to host The NHL100, a special television event celebrating the league’s milestone centennial anniversary by honoring its 100 greatest players.
“I grew up a huge hockey fan and a St. Louis Blues die-hard, so it’s an absolute dream come true to host THE NHL100, where I’ll be among the best players to ever play the game that I love so much,” said Hamm in a statement. “To share a stage with the NHL legends I idolized as well as the best players in the league today will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I can’t wait to bring this unique hockey celebration to my second hometown — Los Angeles.”
Last week, the NHL announced the first 33 legends to make the list, with the remaining honorees to be revealed during The NHL100.
Taking place two days before the NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles, the event will air live Jan. 27 from the Microsoft Theater at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN in the U.S. and Sportsnet and TVAS in Canada. Tickets are available at AXS.com.
