Jeopardy! announcer recites Snoop Dogg lyrics as clue
Whenever Alex Trebek has to read a music lyric, the results are usually excellent. Announcer Johnny Gilbert is equally adept as the host’s more invisible partner in crime.
“Musical Stylings” was a category during Tuesday night’s broadcast. Cindy Stowell, the inspirational contestant who died of cancer before her episodes aired, selected the $800 answer and was greeted with a Snoop Dogg hook from one of his biggest songs.
“G’s to the bizzack, now ladies here we gizzo. When the pimp’s in the crib, ma, drop it like it’s hot, drop it like it’s hot, drop it like it’s hot,” Gilbert read, earning a few laughs from the crowd. Cindy quickly answered correctly by picking out Dogg.
Usually, Trebek is given hip-hop duties. He rapped parts of Drake and Future’s “Jumpman” a few months back. For the ’90s kids, he spat a few bars of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song in summer 2015.
