“Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give.” Both the king and the takers are brought to life through photorealistic CGI in the new trailer for Disney’s The Lion King.

An animated feature becomes an instant classic in the ’90s and, years later, transforms into a live-action feature (or as close to a live-action feature as it can get). In Hollywood, that’s what we call the circle of life.

Be prepared because Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Scar takes the stage in this new footage from Jon Favreau’s film. There’s still no Beyoncé singing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” with Donald Glover’s Simba, but you at least see her character Nala, as well as a few other staples of The Lion King story.

There’s Seth Rogen’s Pumbaa, Billy Eichner’s Timon, John Oliver’s Zazu, and James Earl Jones’ Mufasa. Classic scenes remade in this new animation style, similar to what Favreau did with The Jungle Book, are also in abundance: the wildebeest chase, “Hakuna Matata,” John Kani’s Rafiki in his tree, and a young Simba pouncing after beetles.
