Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Selena Gomez wage zombie war in The Dead Don't Die trailer
The Dead Don't Die (2019 Movie)
Jim Jarmusch has drawn first blood with the new trailer for his upcoming zombie movie The Dead Don’t Die.
The first official preview for the filmmaking icon’s horror-comedy hybrid features a robust ensemble cast including Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Selena Gomez, Austin Butler, Chloë Sevigny, and Steve Buscemi fighting their way through an undead apocalypse.
Written and directed by Jarmusch as his 13th fiction feature, The Dead Don’t Die follows a band of police officers (Driver, Sevigny, Murray) battling their way through a zombie infestation populating their small town (already inhabited by quirky personalities, like Swinton’s katana-wielding mortician) with talking corpses (“Chardonnay!” says undead Carol Kane).
Until now, plot details for the project were kept tightly under wraps, though Gomez, Butler, Sevigny, and Driver were spotted filming the movie last summer in upstate New York. The film marks Gomez’s Jarmusch debut among a cast of actors who’ve previously worked with the celebrated Stranger Than Paradise helmer, namely Swinton, who also appeared in the director’s last monster-themed vampire movie Only Lovers Left Alive in 2013.
Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Sara Driver, RZA, Carol Kane, and Tom Waits round out the cast for the film, which was produced by Joshua Astrachan and Carter Logan.
The Dead Don’t Die infects theaters June 14 via Focus Features. Watch the film’s first trailer above.
