The Band’s Visit is getting ready to leave town.

On Monday, it was announced that the acclaimed Broadway production — which swept last year’s Tony Awards with 10 wins, including Best Musical — will close on April 7.

The musical, an adaptation of the 2007 Israeli film of the same name, will have played 36 previews and 589 performances at the time of its final bow at New York’s Barrymore Theatre.

The Band’s Visit follows an Egyptian police band who find themselves stranded for a night in a small Israeli town. The original cast included Tony Shalhoub and Katrina Lenk, who both won Tony Awards for their performances. Shalhoub’s role is currently being played by Sasson Gabay, who starred in the original Band’s Visit film.

Book writer Itamar Moses, composer David Yazbek, and director David Cromer also earned Tonys for their work on the show.

The show begins a national tour on June 25 in Rhode Island, but you’ll have a chance to get carried away on a jasmine wind much sooner than that — on Monday night, Lenk will appear on The Tonight Show to sing one of the musical’s standout songs, “Omar Sharif.”
