In the season premiere of EW's awards podcast, we discuss the state of the Oscars race so far, and talk to Kenneth Branagh, Questlove, and Mike Mills about their new films.

EW's The Awardist podcast is back for a new season to cover the road to the 2022 Oscars.

Join The Awardist hosts Clarissa Cruz, EW's executive editor, and Joshua Rothkopf, EW's movies editor, as they discuss a return to a more traditional Oscars season, break down current Oscars frontrunners, and share some personal favorites they'd like to see become contenders for Best Picture.

The first episode is jam-packed with interviews with three directors already making waves in this year's race: Kenneth Branagh, whose deeply personal Belfast became an early frontrunner after winning the TIFF People's Choice Award this summer; Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, whose directorial debut feature documentary Summer of Soul became a sensation at Sundance; and Mike Mills, writer-director of family drama C'mon C'mon starring Joaquin Phoenix.

This season of The Awardist podcast will feature new interviews with some of this year's buzziest stars and creators, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jon Bernthal, Ruth Negga, and many more. Plus, we'll have in-depth conversations about which performances blew us away, nominee and winner predictions, and which films were overlooked.
