The fight between Kandi and Porsha continues
After last week’s fight – I suppose we could call it “who said that?”-gate – the ladies of Atlanta are definitely not out of the woods. And since Kandi experienced the brunt of the gossip, it’s no shock that she decides to step away from the crew.
Surprisingly, even though Porsha got called out for gossiping about Kandi, she makes it clear that being exposed hasn’t fazed her. In fact, she seems downright chipper when the group gets on the bus to go back home. But Shereé doesn’t think Phaedra should get away with as much as she already has, so she goes in on Porsha’s supposed bestie. Just like the night before, Phaedra plays the fool and even says she wasn’t there for those conversations about Kandi’s sexuality. Shereé gives Phaedra the side eye on that one, understandably, and even though it seems to be a joke in the group now, the topic definitely won’t be dropped.
Kandi calls a group meeting with Todd, Carmen, Don Juan, and her whole work crew to give the details on what she had to go through the night before. Once she reveals that Porsha was the one to start the rumor, everyone goes into fits, including Don Juan, who just gets up and paces the room. Apparently Porsha has had her own experiences with women, including Kandi – which started innocently but escalated when Porsha asked to go down on her. To Kandi and the group, this screams that Porsha has done this before, so they’re all shocked at why she would even try to make it sound like a bad thing, much less point to Kandi as the only one who’s ever experimented. But it looks like Kandi might get the last word: Porsha reaches out to have a sit down and get past the drama.
Before we can get to that gold, each of the ladies have a few loose ends to tie up. First, Kenya invites Cynthia and Mal to a vaginal rejuvenation specialist – for Cynthia, not for Kenya. She isn’t inviting her buddies just to watch. Kenya feels that now that Cynthia’s divorce is closed, she deserves a fresh start in the physical sense. Cynthia seems down for the quick procedure, but upon seeing the large laser dildo, she starts to question what she’s gotten herself into. The doctor appeases her by saying it only takes a few minutes and doesn’t have any negative side effects – well, other than the possibility of increased random orgasms. Not exactly a bad payoff, but Cynthia makes it clear she doesn’t want to be popping off down there every time she hits a speed bump on the road.
Handling her own form of rejuvenation, Phaedra stops by her lawyer’s office to get some interesting news on her divorce. The lawyer tells Phaedra that the divorce is now final: She’s completely free to start looking for a new lease on life and love. Phaedra tears up over the news, but it’s hard to tell just how emotional she is behind those giant glasses she has on. The lawyer does add that Apollo hasn’t been told the divorce went through, meaning Phaedra has to be the one to break the news. How fun! With that, she heads out, ready to tell her buddy Porsha everything.
Kicking off with good news, Porsha gets to show off her new home – er, mansion. The beautiful house is, of course, well into the over-a-million-dollars range, but Porsha is in love with how much space she has. And let’s hope it was a recent move, since there’s not much décor or furniture in there. After gushing about the space, Porsha and Phaedra get into the tricky talk, as Phaedra reveals that she told Apollo that the divorce has gone through. Apparently Apollo was crushed, even though he has a girlfriend no one is supposed to know about. Phaedra is happy to move on, but she seems pretty excited to hear Apollo is still missing her. Dig that knife in and twist it, girl!
NEXT: Porsha has more rumors to throw at Kandi
Cynthia’s new line, CARGO, is booming, and she wants to show off the success to her girlfriends, which means it’s time to hold another fashion show – this time in Atlanta. Being the savvy businesswoman that she is, her first thought is of Shereé’s son, who just got into modeling. Cynthia calls Shereé in for a meeting and shares the exciting news, only to be met with a list of questions from the momager. Will he get paid? Does he get any perks? Staring blankly at her friend, Cynthia makes it clear this is a job for experience, not pay, but he’ll get a CARGO backpack for walking in the show. Shereé is not at all impressed. She seems pretty offended her son couldn’t book a paying gig, but Cynthia reminds her that walking at all will be a huge boost for Kairo’s career, and he won’t be seeing legitimate pay until he’s further down the road.
As far as friendships go in this group, it seems like the rocky dynamics between Porsha and Kandi are spreading. And the drama isn’t over for those two, even when they meet for lunch to go over everything. Porsha gives a polite hello, but the tension is the air is so thick, Kandi has to wear goggle-sized glasses. It doesn’t take long before the two get into it. Porsha explains that she doesn’t think the whole thing is a huge deal, despite how upset Kandi is. Pulling the hypocrite card, Porsha then explains that even if she did hurt Kandi, she doesn’t appreciate how much Kandi has been saying to Shereé about the whole Block situation. Once again, Kandi is forced to explain that she never said anything about Porsha and Block sleeping together; she just said they had dated at one point. Why Porsha can’t seem to acknowledge that, no one knows.
Kandi reminds Porsha that she told her all the different positions she and Block have been in (in bed). “I don’t live my life in secret like you do,” Kandi says. This sets off Porsha, who starts spewing weird accusations about Kandi having a sex dungeon in her house and being in a relationship with a woman for seven years. Kandi goes right to the sex dungeon: If she had one, she says, she would tell everyone about it because “that would be cool.” But she gets held up on the comment about a relationship with another lady. Apparently, Porsha has this girl’s number, which Kandi asks for so she can squash this nonsense.
Porsha says that everyone knows Kandi slept with R&B groups early in her career to get where she is, sending Kandi into a flurry of giggles with a side of side eye. “You weren’t on all those music videos cause you was cute,” says Kandi, insinuating Porsha was really the one who slept around to get some work. Needless to say, they aren’t really getting along anymore, so Kandi calls it a day. Next week, for some reason, everyone decides to go on a trip to Maui, so at least they’ll continue this never-ending fight in a tropical setting.
