Ladybug flies away! The Masked Singer reveals celebrity contestant under the mask
Warning: This post contains spoilers for The Masked Singer season 2 episode 7.
The Ladybug did her best but she just wasn’t buzzy enough, so she was sent flying on tonight’s The Masked Singer.
Ladybug performed alongside Fox, Flower, Tree, and Rottweiler on Wednesday night. As always, Nick Cannon served as emcee, while Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Ken Jeong made their best (or worst) guesses as the celebrity judges. This week, they’re joined by special guest panelist, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
Fox (“Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown) sang first, followed by Ladybug “(Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer), Flower (“Amazed” by Lonestar), Tree (“No Excuses” by Meghan Trainor), and Rottweiler (“Castle on a Hill” by Ed Sheeran).
Although each contestant wowed, Ladybug proved to be the weakest link among the five contestants and she was eliminated.
Thus, Ladybug was unmasked and revealed to be … Kelly Osbourne, The Talk host and former reality star daughter of Ozzy Osbourne. The Osbournes, of course, had their famous eponymous reality show that ran from 2002 to 2005. If you’ve been watching closely, you’ll remember that the ham in the previous Brady Bunch-style clue package matches up with one of the most talked-about moments on The Osbournes, when matriarch Sharon Osbourne threw a ham over the fence to taunt their noisy neighbors.
The competition is getting tougher and tougher, with only half the original 16 contestants left. Osbourne joins previously eliminated celebrities including Sherri Shepherd, Raven-Symoné, and Paul Shaffer. Johnny Weir and Tyler Blevins, a.k.a. Ninja, were the first to go during the season 2 premiere.
