Leonard flirts with a superhot comic-book artist, and Sheldon discovers he's woefully inept at scaring other people
Since the only real science was Sheldon calling fake blood a “phenolphthalein indicator exposed to a sodium carbonate solution,” let’s just use this space instead for the…
In order from best to bestest:
No. 3: Alice’s self-penned comic, Alice Unchained, in which she details her night of love-making with a guy sporting the top half of a Chewbacca costume. “Comic-Con?” asked Leonard. “You’d think, but no.” Yeah, this woman totally exists in real life.
No. 2: Alice and Leonard’s meet cute at the comic-book store revolved around issue No. 21 of Nextmen, featuring Hellboy’s first appearance — in an American book in a full-color cameo, so says Wikipedia. But nevermind the details; she had him at, well, at eye contact, really, but his fate was sealed when she said “Hellboy.”
No. 1: This is easy: Leonard as Lion-O, as drawn by DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee. Click here to see it again, up close.
BEST LINES AND EXCHANGES:
Sheldon: [Reading message written to him in fake blood] “See you in hell Sheldon” — the most frightening thing about that is the missing comma!
Howard: [To Leonard] Did you just pick up a girl in a comic-book store?
Stuart: Because if you did, you get your picture up there on the Wall of Heroes.
Sheldon: Be sure to check the mail.
Leonard: How many times are you going to tell me? What’s with you?
Sheldon: Nothing. It’s not suspicious that I’m fixating. It’s consistent with my personality.
Alice: [While making out with Leonard] So can I trade you my comic for the Hellboy?
Leonard: You can have my car.
Leonard: So, here it is: Is it cheating if a guy has a girlfriend—
Penny: Yeah, probably.
Sheldon: I thought you were leaving the apartment
Leonard: Yeah, me too, I can’t make up my mind.
Sheldon: Are you concerned because the world is filled with big dogs and bullies?
Screeching voice: WHO IS IT?!
Sheldon: It’s me Sheldon, Mrs. Wolowitz.
Howard: That’s not my mom. It’s Bernadette.
Sheldon: Really? That’s very unsettling.
What did you make of “The Good Guy Fluctuation,” fellow Big Bang theorists? Are you relieved Leonard and Priya appear headed for Splitsville?
