Hello, fellow human! Is your bio-organic matter still functioning? In that case, you probably watched last night's episode of Game of Thrones, in which case you should get caught up on all the excellent pieces of Thrones coverage produced by our man in Westeros, James Hibberd!

But then also, you may be interested in the new episode of EW's Best of Shows, where EW's two TV critics (Kristen Baldwin and yours truly!) discuss the future of HBO's Game of Thrones franchise, alongside the continuous expansion of AMC's The Walking Dead, this decade's other massive successful small-screen genre adaptation. HBO is prequelizing Thrones, while AMC just announced a second expansion series for the Walking Dead universe. In an age of Peak TV and film-to-television cinematic universes, does one approach make more sense?

Elsewhere on this week's episode, we discuss the lovely new sitcom Ramy, which debuts this week on Hulu. Then Kristen fills me in on Life in Pieces, the low-key CBS family sitcom that has quietly grown into a delightful showcase for its talented cast.
