Shall we play a game? Test your Oscars trivia knowledge with Alexa and Entertainment Weekly
It’s likely we’ll see some historic moments at the 92nd Academy Awards on Feb. 9. Parasite has a very good chance of becoming the first non-English language film to win Best Picture, and Brad Pitt will almost certainly take home his first acting Oscar for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But before the big night arrives to create more memorable moments, you can test your knowledge of those that came before with “What Happens Next,” EW’s new Oscars trivia game on Amazon Alexa.
The game presents you with the most talked-about moments in Oscar history, then throws it to you to fill in the blanks on what really went down. Here’s a sample question: “At the 2014 awards, John Travolta was set to introduce Frozen star Idina Menzel to perform her Oscar-winning song, ‘Let it Go’…What happened next?” (Menzel definitely remembers that one.)
To get started, just fire up your Amazon Echo, make sure you’ve enabled the Entertainment Weekly skill (via your browser or the Amazon Alexa app), and then say, “Alexa, open Entertainment Weekly.” After that, the stage is yours — and you don’t have to worry about the orchestra playing you off. Give it a try, and see if you can go from nominee to winner in the Best Memory category.
The 2020 Oscars will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, Feb. 9.
