The 2020 Oscar nominations are here!
On Monday, the Academy announced the actors, directors, producers and others that are in the running for an Oscar at the upcoming 2020 awards ceremony. Current Academy rules allow anywhere from five to ten movies to be nominated in the Best Picture category and this year, the Academy chose to nominate nine films — one more than last year. Many of the Best Picture nominees are also up for awards in other categories: Joker scored a staggering 11 total nominations, while Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Sam Mendes’ 1917 tied for the second most with 10 each.
For some of these Best Picture-nominated movies, it’s been months since they were released (apart from 1917), which is why EW has put together the trailers for all the films vying for that lofty accolade at this year’s ceremony.
