Lin-Manuel Miranda is getting emotional at the Oscars, and the show hasn’t even started yet.

The Hamilton creator and Moana musical mastermind is nominated for Best Original Song at this year’s Academy Awards, and when he stopped for a red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest, the E! host surprised him with a video from the Hamilton cast.

In the clip, the cast wishes Miranda luck by performing a mash-up of Hamilton songs and his Oscar-nominated track “How Far I’ll Gofrom Moana. (Taran Killam, who plays King George, even sneaks in a last-minute “And Peggy!”) Miranda got visibly emotional after watching the clip, and he told Seacrest, “I hate you for making me cry before the Oscars have even started! That was amazing.”

Miranda earned his first-ever Oscar nomination for Moana, and if he wins, he’ll become the youngest person in history to win all four awards required to earn an EGOT. He and Moana star Auli’i Cravalho are set to perform “How Far I’ll Go” on the Oscar stage later in the show.
