Justin Timberlake opens Oscars with 'Can't Stop the Feeling'
Academy Award viewers began the telecast tapping their feet thanks to Justin Timberlake kicking off the festivities with a performance of “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” his nominated song from the animated movie Trolls.
Timberlake began the performance walking through the Dolby Theatre. Several minutes into the performance, he stepped back off the stage and sang “Lovely Day,” by Bill Withers, as he danced with the stars in the audience — including his wife, Jessica Biel.

Nicole Kidman, Taraji P. Henson, and many others were on their feet dancing.
The SexyBack singer won’t be the only one to grace the stage, as it’s customary for best original song nominees to perform the night of the Academy Awards. Among the performers are Lin-Manuel Miranda, who’s nominated for the Moana track “How Far I’ll Go” and La La Land star John Legend, who isn’t nominated but will be performing the film’s nominees “Audition” and “City of Stars” in place of stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Also performing will be Sting, with the Field of Dreams crooner singing “The Empty Chair” from Jim: The James Foley Story.
