Deadpool would be pleased to learn that his scarred face, if not aesthetically pleasing, is Oscar-worthy.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday that seven films remain in competition for the Makeup and Hairstyling award. Three nominees will be selected from: Deadpool, The Dressmaker, Florence Foster Jenkins, Hail, Caesar!, A Man Called Ove, Star Trek Beyond, and Suicide Squad

Absent from that shortlist are Jackie, Rogue One, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

On Jan. 7 the Academy’s Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch will watch 10-minute excerpts from each film and then vote for nominees, which will be announced Jan. 24.

The 89th Oscars are on Feb. 26, 2017, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC.
