Patrick Dempsey designs clothing collection with Bleusalt
The capsule collection — first rolling out in sand and gray — includes five men's styles and one for women.
The perfect fit
Dempsey, a neighbor of Bleusalt founder Lyndie Benson, wanted to collaborate on a soft and easy line of clothing that he could wear during beach walks, plane rides, and business meetings, without ever having to change.
A personal touch
The Colony Cap was reportedly inspired by Dempsey's love of old English hats. The actor also conceived the item as a nod to his love of car racing.
A Malibu affair
Other items include the Tide Trouser, the Point Polo, the Big Rock Blazer, the Trancas Trouser, and the Big Rock Boyfriend Blazer (for women). Each piece derives its name from a Malibu location.
Dempsey produced and directed (with Antony Hoffman) a short film to accompany the announcement of the clothing line, available on Bleusalt's website.
Though a newcomer to the fashion world, Dempsey told WWD he was drawn to the “simple, quiet, and elegant” nature of the product and stated, “I’m really proud to be a part of it.”
The styles range from $50 to $350 and are availalbe on bleusalt.com. "I live in my Bleusalt and it was a pleasure to design a collection of my own that I could wear all day, every day, whether I'm lounging around the house, going out, or traveling," reads a message from Dempsey on the website. "I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do."
