The 10 best Beyoncé and Jay-Z moments for their 10th anniversary

'Drunk in Love' (for 10 years running)
Mark today down as one of our nation's high holy holidays: It's Beyoncé and Jay Z's 10th wedding anniversary. On this day in 2008, two behemoths became legally bound, and the world was forever better for it. Over the course of the last decade, there have been highs and lows, but among it all there are a few moments that have stuck with us as our personal favorites.
Like the "Drunk in Love" video, for starters. It's not often that we're treated to both Bey and Jay in the same frame, and to get to watch them frolic in tropical waters while Bey says "surfbort" repeatedly — well, that makes us about as happy as cigars on ice.

President Obama's inaugurations
If you were to ask us our dream dinner dates, the answer would be, unequivocally, the Obamas and the Carters. So anytime this foursome hangs out IRL, it feels like a treat — and it was even better knowing they were all bearing witness to presidential history. Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll just be singing "At Last" to ourselves for the rest of time.

'Forever Young'
These days it's come to be expected that Coachella's headliners will pull out all the stops for performances, and surprise guests are rarely a surprise. But in 2010, when Jay-Z brought his wife out to perform "Forever Young" during his performance on the main stage, it was as close to a cultural earthquake as the festival could get.

Barbie and Ken
No one does Halloween like Bey and Jay. They've had numerous memorable costumes over the years, but nothing was a crowd favorite quite like their take on the Mattel classic. It might also be the only time that Blue Ivy hasn't shown them up.

Instagram husband
Do you remember where you were when this picture hit the internet? Elevators are a sore subject for this couple, but the incident of the 2014 Met Ball was barely a blip on the radar compared to the revelation that this elevator image wrought: Jay-Z officially made being an Instagram husband cool.

On the Run
Putting aside the fact that these two are about to reprise this tour, pretty much every minute of the original On the Run was a personal highlight for anyone lucky enough to experience it. From the costumes to the home videos that played on the background big-screens, this tour served as a reminder that we truly are not worthy.

Literally anytime they're on a boat
This couple does everything bigger and better, and never does that sentiment ring more true than when they're on vacation. Beyoncé and Jay-Z seem to spend 75 percent of their time on a yacht, and it's always capital-F-Fabulous. The coordinating straw hats are just the tip of the iceberg.

The 2015 Met Gala
One year after Elevator-gate, the potential for awkwardness was high, but we'll just say this: Beyoncé's dress. Case closed.

Coachella fans
As fans, nothing is more thrilling than getting a glimpse of what this power couple are like on their days off. In 2014, they headed out to the desert not to perform, but to support Solange. In the process, they both set new Coachella style standards (hello, Jay-Z's bandanna!) and made everyone else in attendance feel very self-conscious about their dance moves.

Lemonade
Okay, so this technically is more of a Beyoncé moment than a couple's moment. But Lemonade was such a formative part of the husband-and-wife duo we know today — partly because of the awe-inspiring images like this one, and also because it set the precedent that we now enjoy, one of being honest about the ups and downs of a marriage. Queen Bey might be flawless, but we love this couple all the more because their relationship isn't.
