The Jonas Brothers are feeling so 'Cool' in new, totally '80s music video
The Jonas Brothers are throwing a totally ’80s beach bash in the new music video for “Cool,” and everybody’s welcome.
Anthony Mandler, the director behind the band’s “Sucker” video, returned to helm “Cool,” which has Nick, Joe, and Kevin singing about “feeling so cool/ Top to the bottom just cool.” Cool like “a new James Dean,” cool like “Post Malone when I get home.”
Eighties references abound, from Joe’s boombox jams and a lyrical reference to “a young Jane Fonda” to the dancers wearing colorful aerobic getups and an older crowd rocking out with dazzling shades.
Truth is, these guys have been feeling “Cool” since announcing their reunion with that weeklong stint on The Late Late Show. It could also have something to do with all the weddings and engagements between the three of them; Joe’s fiancé Sophie Turner, Nick’s wife Priyanka Chopra, and Kevin’s wife Danielle Jonas helped kick off their comeback with appearances in the “Sucker” video. Maybe it has something to do with all the Hawaiian shirts dominating this video. Now that’s “Cool.”
