Taylor Swift announces Charli XCX and Camila Cabello as reputation tour openers
… Ready for it? Camila Cabello and Charli XCX are joining Taylor Swift on her reputation stadium tour.
The pop singer announced the news on Thursday in a video posted on Twitter.
“I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a really long time,” Swift said in the video. “So I’m really excited, I hope you are too, and I can’t wait to see you, can’t wait to see them, really excited just about the whole thing in general.”
Swift’s tour launches in Arizona on May 8 and concludes in Texas in October.
Cabello, formerly of Fifth Harmony fame, made headlines earlier this year with her powerful Grammy Awards speech about “Dreamers” and growing up as an immigrant. The “Havana” singer is also promoting her debut album, Camila, and her first solo headlining tour, Never Be The Same, which kicks off April 9 in Vancouver and wraps in Amsterdam on June 13. It’s unclear how the latter half of Cabello’s tour, which overlaps with Swift’s, will be affected, and reps for the pop star did not immediately return EW’s requests for comment.
“Boys” singer Charli XCX released her latest mixtape, titled Pop 2, in December. A release date has yet to be announced for her third studio album. “Can i officially be the bad influence on the #ReputationStadiumTour ???” the singer wrote on Twitter after the announcement. “(just kidding….. or am i??)”
Ticketing information and tour dates can be found on Swift’s website.
