Zig-a-zig-YAAAS!
All five members of the Spice Girls reunited in London on Friday. Victoria Beckham posted an image from the special occasion, sparking speculation that a new collaboration is imminent.
“Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X Exciting x#friendshipneverends #girlpower,” wrote Beckham (Posh), who is surrounded by Melanie C (Sporty), Emma Bunton (Baby), Geri Halliwell (Ginger), and Mel B (Scary) in the image, which was seemingly taken in a cozy, candle-lit living room.
Bunton echoed the sentiment on Twitter:
Britain’s The Sun reported ahead of the photo that a “secret meeting” was planned for the Spice Girls and manager Simon Fuller to discuss “TV projects in China, a new telly talent show, endorsement deals, and a compilation album celebrating their greatest hits.” There’s reportedly a caveat, however: Beckham does not want to provide vocals for any reunion projects, The Sun reports.
While a project has not yet been announced, one thing’s for sure: getting all five ladies together took a major change of heart, miracle of diplomacy, or both. Rumors have swirled for years that both Beckham and Mel C were opposed to a reunion, and at one point, three of the ladies — Brown, Halliwell, and Bunton — explored forming a mini group named GEM that never materialized.
We’ll leave you with this:
