Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away and Dan Auerbach would like to help you get ready. Today, EW is thrilled to premiere the Black Keys’ frontman’s sweet new ditty, “Up On a Mountain of Love,” and its trippy music video.

“This song was inspired by new love,” the rocker tells EW via email of the cut that will release via Amazon Music’s Love Me, Love Me Not playlist on Feb. 9, adding that the writing process was super swift. “The song appeared out of thin air.”

As for why they swapped out the idea of live action when it came to the video, he explains, “The animation allowed us to be as magical as possible and that was our goal for the video.” Mission accomplished.

Auerbach is currently bringing his Dan Auerbach & the Easy Eye Sound Revue featuring Robert Finley, Sonny Smith, and Shannon Shaw with special guests Shannon & the Clams around the country. That run follows the 2017 release of his second solo set, Waiting on a Song, which dropped last summer via Auerbach’s own label.

The singer is also launching a new monthly SiriusXM music show, The Easy Hour (Ch. 28). The project debuted January 21; the next iteration will drop later this month.
