Bruno Mars leads American Music Awards nominations

The American Music Awards were announced Thursday, and Bruno Mars leads the pack this year with eight total nominations. Sharing second place, Drake and Ed Sheeran both scored five nods. Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and The Chainsmokers are also among this year’s nominees.

Appearing on Good Morning America Thursday, Ciara kicked off the AMA excitement by announcing the first six categories. The rest of the nominees for the largest fan-voted show in the world were announced by Billboard via Facebook Live.
