Though Demi Lovato’s ability to belt out those high notes never ceases to impress, even the best fall down sometimes.

During a live performance of “Stone Cold” at a party for her new album Tell Me You Love Me on Saturday, Lovato’s voice couldn’t quite climb the scale in the way it normally does. As she began the lyric “if happy is her, I’m happy for you,” her voice cracked. She made a second attempt to push past the initial mishap, but then came to terms with the situation after it happened again.

“F—,” she said, drawing laughter followed by cheer from the crowd.

She added with a smile and laugh: “I don’t know what to do.”

Lovato then made the adjustment like the true professional that she is, bringing the chorus down to an octave that she could sing in for the time being. Afterward, amidst more applause, the 25-year-old singer shrugged her shoulders and accepted the moment for what it was. “That’s what we call not lip-syncing,” she later told host Elvis Duran. Sorry not sorry!

“Even when I lose my voice on stage my fans know how to keep me from being down.. thank you my Lovatics I love you,” she tweeted Saturday.
