'Look What You Made Me Do' is sparking speculation

Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.

It was the tweet heard round social media a few years ago when Taylor Swift’s rival called out the singer — and, now, new winds are fanning that flame. (And no, it’s not Katy Perry’s new “Swish Swish” video.)

Swift on Thursday released her ominous new cut “Look What You Made Me Do,” and while its credits list U.K. act Right Said Fred — her track includes an interpolation of their 1991 house bop “I’m Too Sexy” — the internet is simply not satisfied.

“Taylor was once called ‘Regina George in sheep’s clothing’ and her new song uses the beat from [this] scene in Mean Girls,” said Twitter user @tkylemac, kicking off the still-mounting accusation.

He even included very convincing soundwave-comparison.

That beat he’s referring to is famously Peaches’ song “Operate,” which is not credited in the “LWYMMD” notes. (EW has reached out to Peaches as well as Swift and her co-writer-producer Jack Antonoff for comment.)

Check out the three songs above.
