Who will put on the next instantly iconic performances at the MTV VMAs? The network gave fans some ideas on Monday, announcing its first batch of performers in two promo videos.

Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony, Lorde, The Weeknd, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Shawn Mendes are all on the list of stars set to bring their music to the stage. Additional performers will be announced in the next few weeks, MTV indicated.

This year's show — the first with gender-neutral awards — finds Perry pulling double duty, as MTV announced last month that she's hosting the ceremony. "I've been training with MTV in zero gravity, eating astronaut ice cream, and I'm on a group text with Buzz Aldrin and Neil deGrasse Tyson," she wrote in a Facebook post on July 27, one month before her big night. "Come August 27th, I'll be ready to be your MOONWOMAN! Brace for impact, kids." <iframe src="//" width="512" height="288" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="" scrolling="no" resize="0" replace_attributes="1" name=""></iframe>Ûß9sovñÍ{é÷¸çÇ·i½öãv›{VøÕõåÆÝ
