Iggy Azalea is pulling an “I don’t know her.”

The “Switch” rapper on Tuesday responded to Halsey‘s claim that Azalea is a “f—ing moron” with a “complete disregard for black culture.”

“It’s a bit weird to bring someone up in an interview that you weren’t asked about,” Azalea, 27, said in an interview on Australia’s Smallzy’s Surgery podcast.

She later added: “I don’t know her, I’ve never met her or interacted with her in any capacity, so I thought it was a bit of a strange thing to kind of throw that out there.” (“I don’t know her,” of course, was made famous by Mariah Carey when an interviewer asked the diva about Jennifer Lopez, with whom she’s long been rumored to have a feud.)

Azalea also noted the four-year age difference between her and Halsey, 22: “But she’s young and, you know, I hope that she kind of learns maybe to be a bit less judgmental when she’s kind of in the same shoes,” she said. “I’m sure she’s getting judged all the time as well by people who don’t really know her, so I think maybe it would be good for her to just try to be a little bit more empathetic to other people that are in the same situation.”

Halsey discussed Azalea in an interview with The Guardian, saying she is among the group of artists with whom she wouldn’t collaborate. “Iggy Azalea: Absolutely not,” said Halsey. “She had a complete disregard for black culture. F—ing moron. I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me.”
