'Devastated' One Direction members support Harry Styles after stepfather's death
The singer's stepfather died of cancer at age 57
One Direction is on hiatus, but the guys are still there for each other in times of need.
Members Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne are showing sweet support on social media for Harry Styles, whose stepfather, Robin Twist, died of cancer at age 57 this week.
“Devastated to hear the news about Robin,” tweeted Tomlinson on Thursday. “He was the such a lovely kind and funny guy. Sending all my love to the whole family.”
He added in a second tweet, “You’ll be missed mate :(.”
Payne and Horan posted the same picture of Twist with Styles’ mother, Anne Cox.
“Harry my heart really goes out to you such an extremely sad day for us all who knew Robin,” wrote Payne. “What a kind, gentle and beautiful soul, a true rarity to find in today’s world. Sometimes they really do take the best of us far too soon. X.”
“Very sad to hear about the loss of Robin,” wrote Horan. “For those who had the pleasure of knowing Robin will know that he was the nicest, kindest, most generous, hilariously funny guy you’ll have met. He always had a smile on his face even when he was battling the terrible illness. Love ya H. Please give your mum and the rest of the family a massive hug from my family.”
Twist married the singer’s mother, Anne Cox, in 2013. Styles, who served as best man at his mother’s wedding to Twist in 2013, talked about his fondness for Twist in his biography Harry Styles: Every Piece of Me. “I was always asking mum if he was coming over,” he wrote. “But she wanted to make sure [my sister] Gemma and I were okay with him being [there]. She worried a lot so I used to text him and tell him to come over.”
