Shakira drops poppy new single, 'Me Enamoré'
Shakira returned Friday with a new single, “Me Enamoré (I Fell In Love).” The poppy, reggaetón-inspired jam is the second single off Shakira’s anticipated 11th album, following 2016’s “Chantaje.” The 40-year-old Colombian Grammy-winner wrote “Me Enamoré” and produced the song with Rayito and Rude Boyz, the duo who collaborated with her on “Chantaje.”
The single’s uplifting feel resembles “Try Everything,” the theme song Shakira recorded for last year’s Best Animated Feature Oscar winner, Zootopia. Along with “Me Enamoré,” Shakria shared an official lyric video. which juxtaposes the tune’s Spanish-language words with adorable illustrations for the non-Spanish-speaking crowd.
Shakira has been particularly prolific in recent months. In addition to “Chantaje” and “Try Everything,” she appeared on Prince Royce’s new single, “Deja Vu,” earlier this year. And last summer, she teamed with Carlos Vives for his hit “La Bicicleta.” But while she has shared the first two singles from her next album, it still has no firm release date. In the meantime, watch “Me Enamoré” above or listen here.
