Tool previously announced that they’d be headlining this summer’s Governors Ball festival in New York City, and they’ll be hitting the road before that, too: Monday, the band revealed they’re embarking on a tour that kicks off May 24 in Virginia.
According to an announcement on their official Facebook page, the tour will be an “unparalleled sonic and visual experience.” Tickets go on sale Friday, March 7.
Tool’s fourth and most recent album, 10,000 Days, was released in 2006 and won the Grammy for Best Recording Package. Since then, they’ve been working on a fifth album, which guitarist Adam Jones talked to Rolling Stone about in 2015.
“Things are really flowing and going really well, and I’m just blown away at the stuff that’s coming together,” he said. “I’m excited and can’t wait for it to be done.” The project doesn’t yet have a release date.
