Kelsea Ballerini is capping off a banner album cycle, which included three consecutive country airplay No. 1 hits and a Best New Artist Grammy nomination, by launching “Yeah Boy,” the fourth single from her debut record, 2015’s The First Time. Last week, she premiered the colorful clip for the flirty track and now she’s walking EW through its creation in a new behind-the-scenes video.

Talking about Time, Ballerini says, “I always say it kind of captures 12-21, when I put it out. And I think most of the heartbeat of the record is just super fun and youthful. We were able to show that with the first two singles, and then I was able to show a different side with [third single] ‘Peter Pan’ — we’re bringing it back to that heartbeat, that youthful, fun, bright heartbeat with ‘Yeah Boy’.”

In the clip below, the 23-year-old also discusses working with director Kristen Barlow, who helmed the camera for her “Peter Pan” video this year and moving on from her first record. “That’s a wrap!” Ballerini says.

Check out the clip and see the full video for “Yeah Boy” below.
