Does someone need a hug, or a way to stream Elf online for free? If it’s the latter, we’ve found the solution.

Will Ferrell and Jon Favreau’s perennial crowd-pleaser is always popular during the holiday season. In fact, we’d argue it’s a Christmas classic along the lines of Love Actually, It’s a Wonderful Life, and maybe even Die Hard (yes, we said it). For those like Love Actually director Richard Curtis who “can’t watch [Elf] too many times,” streaming service Philo has the classic movie on demand. With a free trial, viewers would be able to stream Elf without cost.

Stream it! Elf, free with a subscription on philo.com

The cheapest cable streaming service on the Internet offers Elf as part of its library, but Philo isn’t the only place you can find it. Hulu Live TV, Amazon Prime Video, FuboTV, and Sling TV all offer the movie too, although each with different free trial periods. Some, like Amazon Prime Video, require an additional channel subscription (AMC+ or Starz).

And, of course, Elf isn’t the only holiday movie on Philo to stream — the platform includes the Hallmark Channel and its vast offering of holiday rom-coms, Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You, The Polar Express, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

So, no need to cram 11 cookies into your VCR — or touch your VCR again, for that matter. Stream Elf for free online at Philo now, and check out more holiday coverage from EW here
