Kim Kardashian is pouncing on a new project post-Keeping Up With the Kardashiansand dipping her paws into the world of animation!

The reality star is lending her voice to the upcoming animated film PAW Patrol, which also features the vocal talents of Dax Shepard, Tyler Perry, and more. It's based on the light-hearted pre-school series about a tech-savvy boy named Ryder who leads a team of search and rescue dogs. Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures, in conjunction with Spin Master Entertainment, announced the news Thursday.

Jimmy Kimmel, black-ish's Yara Shahidi and Marsai Martin, Randall Park, Iain Armitage, and Will Brisbin have also joined the voice cast of the film, which is currently in production with creators, artists, and producers collaborating remotely. 

Most of the stars announced in the cast will voice new characters specifically written for them. Meanwhile, the recurring cast — including dogs Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Zuma, Rocky and Skye — of the animated series will be heavily featured in the August 2021 film.

"Kim's character is a new character being created for her specifically in the film," a source tells People.

"I'm officially cool mom now to my kids! Paw Patrol We're On A Roll!!!" Kardashian West tweeted on Thursday, along with the cast announcement.

In the film, Ryder and the pups are called to Adventure City to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos. Get ready for exciting missions, high-stake rescues, new pups, and amazing new vehicles.

Directed by Cal Brunker (Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature; Escape From Planet Earth), PAW Patrol is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures in theaters on Aug. 20, 2021. The feature is based on the preschool series produced by Spin Master Entertainment and broadcast by Nickelodeon. The show premiered on Nickelodeon in 2013 and is currently in its seventh season.
