1. Britney Spears in the "Circus" video
There’s only two types of people in the world: The ones that admit that Britney Spears is the best ringmaster of all time and the ones who are lying. She doesn’t like the backseat — she’s gotta be first — so we’re making sure that all the eyes of this photo gallery are on her. After all, she calls the shots.
2. Zac Efron in The Greatest Showman
Right here, right now, we’ve put the offer out: Zac Efron, will you be the No. 2 to Britney Spears? As Philip Carlyle, the spoiled heir who thought he was too good for the circus, his resistance to join PT Barnum in the ring made the first shot of him in that bright red tailcoat all the more delicious. If you do like him you’ll never go wrong.
3. Colin Farrell in Dumbo
The ultimate power move is taking a role like Sad Clown, down on the bottom of the circus hierarchy, and becoming a runaway sensation because you’re just too hot. We’d look at that face full of makeup any day.
4. Zendaya in The Greatest Showman
Sure, Zac Efron dancing on top of the bar during “The Other Side” was a revelation and a national treasure, but he needed a collaborator like Zendaya to pass the proverbial hotness baton. Plus, you should see what she can do with a trapeze.
5 and 6. Vitaly and Gia in Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
It’s already been decided that cartoons can be hot (Exhibit A: Simba’s Jonathan Taylor Thomas-ness in The Lion King. Exhibit B: Gaston, even though he was an ass.) Enter Vitaly and Gia (voiced by Bryan Cranston and Jessica Chastain) — it doesn’t really matter what they do at the circus, because have you seen her eyelashes or his pecs?
7. Hugh Jackman in The Greatest Showman
PT Barnum is, like, an incredibly problematic character, but Jackman’s phenomenal singing and dancing skills must be acknowledged.
8. Robert Pattinson in Water for Elephants
We wanted more out of this character almost as badly as every viewer wanted to understand what Water for Elephants is about.
