After Deadpool 2, where the X-Men franchises (last) stand
Dark Phoenix (Feb. 14, 2019)
Based on the classic X-Men storyline, Simon Kinberg’s directorial debut is going back for additional photography this summer. "It’s normal for all these big movies now," says Kinberg. “We’ll go back when we can get all those actors together, and then it will give me enough time to have it ready and looking perfect.”
The New Mutants (Aug. 2, 2019)
Director Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) opted for a horror-based approach to the comic series about young mutants. But the film, which stars Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams, has been pushed back multiple times and is reportedly undergoing heavy reshoots, including possibly adding a new character.
X-Force (Release date TBA)
Deadpool 2 sets up this spin-off. Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) will write and direct the team film featuring Deadpool. Says producer Kinberg, “Drew, Ryan, and I sat down and talked quite a bit about what X-Force would be, but we haven’t on settled who those characters are yet. But certainly we’d want Cable and Domino to be part of it.”
143 (Release date TBA)
Comic book author Brian Michael Bendis is writing this secret project rumored to be about Kitty Pryde, the mutant who can walk through walls played by Ellen Page in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Tim Miller (Deadpool) is slated to direct.
