Bradley Cooper has already been dreaming of a reunion with Lady Gaga, but it’s not a concert tour of any kind, as Ellen DeGeneres suggested.

“I mean, no,” the actor said, laughing when the talk-show host brought it up on Thursday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “But what I thought would be a cool thing to do, maybe one night, is do a live reading of the movie, of the script, and sing all the songs as you’re reading the script, like at the Hollywood Bowl or something… That would be cool, right?”

That would be cool.

Cooper joined Gaga live on stage in January to perform “Shallow,” the Oscar-winning song from A Star Is Born, at Gaga’s Enigma show in Las Vegas. They also performed the song again on the Oscars stage. So, yes, as nervous as the actor was to do perform in that capacity, he can sing live. But his nerves came back amid the silent response from DeGeneres’ audience after suggesting the idea.

“They didn’t respond so you’re like, ‘No’?” the host said.

“I was just testing it out,” Cooper joked. “No, we won’t do it. Horrible idea.”

The hoped-for reunion would probably reignite rumors of a romance between the two stars (that have already been squashed), but it’s worth it to hear a solid live Gaga “HAAA AH AH AH AAAH” again.
