Bridesmaids duo Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo to reunite for new comedy film

Posted on

If you’re waiting for Bridesmaids 2, you’ll have to keep waiting. But now there’s something else on the horizon to look forward to.

Kristen Wiig and her Bridesmaids co-writer (and longtime friend) Annie Mumolo are reuniting for a new comedy film entitled Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. The pair wrote the screenplay together, their first writing collaboration since their Oscar-nominated Bridesmaids script, and will also produce and co-star in the film. Josh Greenbaum, a TV veteran who’s helmed episodes of Fresh Off the BoatNew Girl, and Single Parents, will direct.

Plot details on the film are scarce, but we have to assume it will involve two people named Barb and Star who, at some point, venture to Vista Del Mar.

Lionsgate will release Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar sometime in 2020.
