The good guys have a plan to snap back.
Slight spoilers below…
For one, where the hell has she been? That’s what Don Cheadle’s War Machine wants to know.
Brie Larson’s intergalactic warrior informs him that there are lots of planets out there in need of defending. Earth is just one — and it has a formidable team of protectors already.
Now that Thanos (Josh Brolin) has wiped out half the life in the universe, this fight is hers. Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) reveals a powerful energy signature that appears to pinpoint the Mad Titan’s location.
Karen Gillan’s Nebula, last seen being lost in space with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), is with the team, and she notes that Thanos had a garden realm he liked to tend.
Captain Marvel is ready to suit up, fly off, and take him down.
But the Avengers want a piece of him, too. And killing him isn’t exactly the only option. What if they can reassemble the Infinity Stones? Could that allow them to reverse the decimation of the Snap?
“We owe it to everyone not in this room to try,” Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) says.
That’s when Chris Hemsworth’s morose Thor arrives, summons his new hammer, Stormbreaker, and smiles. “I like this one,” he says of Captain Marvel.
Chris Evans’ goody-two-shoes Captain America shows just how much he has changed from the “language!” moment of Age of Ultron.
“Let’s go get the son of a bitch,” he says.
Then they strap in to their starship, the Benatar, and venture off while Rocket asks: “Who hasn’t been to space before?”
You’ll have to wait until April 26 to find out what happens next.
