Lindsay Lohan is literally sinking her (long, pointy) teeth into the meat of her first movie role in nearly six years, and EW has an exclusive sneak peek at the Mean Girls actress’ upcoming horror-thriller Among the Shadows.
“I want to hire you. Someone wants to kill my husband,” Lohan’s Patricia Sherman (a high-ranking politician’s wife) tells Kristy Wolfe (an indiscreetly named private investigator and full-time werewolf) in the preview above, which teases the beginning of a journey involving international conspiracies and generations-old blood wars between mythical creatures roaming the human world.
Wolfe, however, pushes back, asking Sherman why she hasn’t gone to the police.
“Because I think it’s one of you…. a werewolf,” she responds. Wolfe remains cautious and claps back.
“And what makes you so sure it’s one of us and not one of you?” she says. “And by ‘you,’ I mean vampire. Your kind, you’re a lot more vicious than us.”
“And stronger,” Sherman cuts in, opening her lips wide enough to show off her razor-sharp incisors.
Directed by Tiago Mesquita, Among the Shadows also stars Charlotte Beckett (Penny Dreadful) and Gianni Capaldi. It marks Lohan’s first feature role since she appeared in Paul Schrader’s Bret Easton Ellis-penned film The Canyons in 2013.
Since then, Lohan has forged a new career on television, starring in the short-lived, Oprah-produced reality show Lindsay in 2014 before joining the cast of the British comedy Sick Note for its 2018 season. The actress is currently leading MTV’s Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, a reality series that chronicles her entrepreneurial efforts as a club owner and businesswoman.
Among the Shadows is on digital platforms and VOD beginning March 5. Watch EW’s exclusive preview from the movie above.
