London event will open with Jenn Wexler's punk-infused survival thriller 'The Ranger'
Want to attend a horror film festival with thrills, chills, and weird movie titles? Then we recommend this year’s FrightFest, which takes takes in London, Aug. 23-27. The festival has just announced its lineup, which includes the Monster Squad documentary Wolfman’s Got Nards and The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Big Foot. The latter is not only a real film, but one which stars the great Sam Elliott.
The festival will open with the U.K. premiere of director Jenn Wexler’s punk-infused survival thriller The Ranger and close with Gaspar Noé’s Climax, about a dance troupe whose rehearsal goes awry when someone spikes the mid-session break drinks with acid. Other films screening at this year’s event include Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich and Dead Night — both of which feature beloved horror genre regular Barbara Crampton — the giant pig movie Boar, and the documentary Hammer Horror: The Warner Bros. Years.
